On the menu is corned beef and cabbage, all proceeds will benefit Stand down.
Stand down is held every September and was designed to help homeless Vets. They are given clean clothes to wear, hair cuts and shaves plus much needed medical attention. They are fed and housed for 3 days.
It is not near enough but at least it is something. Nan and Cristy have a raffle planned and are making some fabulous desserts!
We have chocolate filled pastries, chocolate cherry pizza and mini chocolate cakes. That is what we are planning on making. (desserts are subject to change) We were going to also make a banana trifle but I think that just might be over the top. You’ll have to come out and see!

Come out to VFW Post 4647 and celebrate Oktoberfest with some Bratwurst & Sauerkraut. $5.00 Wash it down with some Samual Adams beer. Festivities begin at 6PM.
Stay for Karaoke at 7:30PM until midnight.

Stuffed Pork Chops with mashed potatoes and gravy served with vegetables, green salad and dessert.

Dinner starts at 6 PM and DJ starts at 7 PM.

VFW Post 4647 is hosting a Vendor and Craft Fair on Saturday September 12, 2009 from 10 am to 4pm.
We will have every kind of vendor you can think of (or at least that is our goal). We are serving lunch for a nominal fee and we will have a raffle. Raffle will take place throughout the day and you do not have to be present to win.

New York Life, The Ladies of AT&T and VFW Post 4647 are sponsoring the 10th annual charity golf tournament at River Oaks course on September 27th, 2009.
Great prizes, including a $10,000.00 hole-in-one, closest to the pin and the longest drive, as well as raffle and door prizes.
Entry fee is $85.00 per player, $340.00 per team. A full team is not required. Entry fee includes golf, cart and a steak dinner at the post.
Tournament is a scramble format with a shotgun start at 7:30 am. Check in time is 6:45 am. Play is open to member’s guests and to the public.
All proceeds from the event benefit the holiday food basket program & Women of AT&T Community Outreach: ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and our Annual Expanding Your Horizons Event.

The weekend starts off with a Rib dinner by Glenn and the MOCA. Dinner starts at 6 PM
Live music is provided by: Parel Bros, starting at 7 PM
Saturday is the Ladies Tea Party hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary. Bring your lovely tea pot and cup. Hot water, tea and finger foods will be served while you enjoy a fashion show. This begins at 2 PM.
Saturday evening there will be karaoke in the Canteen from 7:30 PM until midnight. Bring your friends and come out and have a good time. Even if you don’t sing, it is fun to listen. We always have a great time on Saturday nights!
Sunday morning breakfast is served starting at 9 AM. Eggs cooked to order, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, toast, English muffins. Yum!

On Saturday, we’ll be having a Luau followed by Karaoke
The Luau begins at 4:00 PM, So dress in a hawaiian theme and join us for a fun filled feast out on the patio.
At 7:30 the Karaoke will begin in the canteen.
